Another good story delivered by Chautona. I am amazed at how I was able to come away happy with it despite the sadness that is innate to it being written as close to historically accurate as possible.While parts were sad and I generally enjoy my reading to be sunshine and roses, it was definitely worth it. If you are interested in learning more about human trafficking in a fictional work of more modern times, check out Alana Terry’s book Slave Again.Audience: teens and up. While it does reference suicide; addiction; brothel work (willing and unwilling), it is also clean and I don’t think anything in it is too descriptive. In the writing of Christian novels, some authors skirt around issues, and some insist on everything ending up perfectly, with a pretty pink bow.
